I'm on an Android phone and I do not have Chrome installed on my device. I tried and failed to get the app with the browser (Opera) that is installed on my phone. How can I get the mobile app?
Hi Michael - it installs OK for us with Opera on Android. I'd suggest checking you have the latest version of Opera but if you're still having problems your best option is to download Chrome and install it with that.
I had to install Chrome to get the app. I must be doing something wrong because all I have is a shortcut to open the website in a browser. I tried to reshape a route and I did not get any magnification as shown in your photo of the app.
If the app runs fullscreen (without the address bar) and says "plotaroute" under the app icon rather than "plotaroute.com" you have installed it correctly. It needs to be installed from the main home page when signed out - installing from any other page will create a browser shortcut instead.
We've made a small tweak to the Reshape Route feature, which should hopefully help. The magnifier will only be shown though when you start dragging one of the anchor points. It's a little bit fiddly on small screens, as accurately selecting things with your finger will never be as easy as using a mouse, so this feature is easier to use on a desktop computer.
Hi guys Best wishes for 2021 and thanks for your good work! app installed worked ok, the app shows the blue star to confirm the route is transfered to garmin connect, then on connect I force a sync but the route do not show on my gpsmap66... would you have any suggestions to solve this? thanks. best regards JP
I deleted the app and re-installed. To re-install I loaded Chrome. After installation I started the app and like you said I had a fullscreen version of the app. I then deleted Chrome and re-started the app and now it behaves like a short-cut. I guess us non-Chrome users are out of luck.
Michael - yes, that's correct, if you install the app using Chrome and then delete Chrome from your device it won't then run as an app, as it needs the browser that it was installed with. We do recommend using Chrome, as this is what we develop and test the app with.
JP - thanks for the new year wishes, same to you! I can see from our logs that routes have been successfully sent from your account to Garmin Connect. Are they showing in your Garmin Connect account? If not, try unstarring them on here and then starring them again, which should delete and resend them.
Nope, doesn't install for me. Samsung S7, Android 8.0, not signed in, follow the install process via Chrome and get the icon. However, seems to be the browser shortcut ..... tried many times .....
Adding tio my last post .... the app installs, but it seems to go a browser window. If I select "Mobile App" from the menu, I get the https://www.plotaroute.com/mobileapp page.
It's not really clear what I should expect to see. Some online pictures would help.
