Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

An awsome course of literally highs and lows!
the first half mile is great, its flat!!! Then the hills start. The first major clim is tough as it undulates. The second climb is tough as it is on gravel (the are sections from mile 7-9 that are gravel too) and the third climb....ooohhhh boy!! Its a constent 1:7 gradient (12.5 degrees) of uphill over 2/3 of a mile. Make sure you have trained on hills, stretched your calves and quads, oh and taken a brave pill!!!!
HAPPY RUNNING
IN RUNNING WE TRUST!!!
EEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did I decide to enter this race! It was a bad idea to watch a documentry on the western state ultra, have a beer or two and see this race advertised on timeoutdoors!!!
Oh well, the main reason I am doing this is for the challenge! I used to run a lot, but I have had a tough time in life recently and needed a tough challenge. I am now doing the 4 castle series, 4 half marathons in 4 months! I must be mad.
BRING IT ON!!!!!!
