Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.
When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.
Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.

The 10k course is the same as the 5k course. It is a double loop course. The volunteers will need to remain in place following the 5k runners so that they can direct the 10k runners. The race starts at 8am. All runners should be finished by 940 am. If you are working a water stop, please pick up cups and place into the trash bag provided and sit it on the water table. Someone will come around and pick it up.
Volunteer # 1 – Stationed at the first turn following the start. Will direct runners to make a left turn onto College Street (street that goes by the police office). When all runners have went past the first turn, this volunteer will place the water on the table (which will be set up next to you by me) for the 10k runners. I would pour about 20 cups full. When the 10k runners come through, this volunteer will direct them to take a left the same as they did for the 5k runners.
Volunteer # 2 – Stationed at turn number 2. This volunteer will direct both 5k and 10k runners to turn right.
Volunteer # 3, 4, and 5 – VERY IMPORTANT POSITION. Stationed at west Ridgeland Ave at turn number 3. 1 will use stop sign to block traffic coming east on west Ridgeland AVE, one will use stop sign to block traffic coming west on West Ridgeland AVE and one will direct runners to make Left Turn. These volunteers will direct both 5k and 10k runners in the same manner.
Volunteer # 6 – will be stationed at the corner of West Ridgeland Ave and North Maple Street and will direct both 5k and 10k runners to turn right onto Maple Street.
Volunteer # 7 – will be stationed at corner of North Maple Street and West Washington Street. This volunteer will use stop sign to stop any traffic coming east on Washington and direct runners to make left turn onto West Washington Street for both 5k and 10k runners.
Volunteer # 8 and 9 – Will be located at mile # 1 (water stop). This is located on the corner of west Washington Street and North central Ave. At 745am begin filling water cups, expect 100-110 people to want a drink of water there.
Volunteer # 10 – Located at the corner of west Washington Street and North Wheatley Street. This volunteer will direct both 5k and 10k runners to turn left onto North Wheatley Street.
Volunteer # 11, 12, 13 – Located at the intersection of west Ridgeland Ave and North Wheatley Street. . 1 will use stop sign to block traffic coming east on west Ridgeland AVE, one will use stop sign to block traffic coming west on West Ridgeland AVE and one will direct runners to make CONTINUE STRAIGHT ACRROS THE ROAD, CONTINUE STRAIGHT ON NORTH WHEATLEY STREET. THESE RUNNERS WILL BE COMING BACK UP NORTH WHEATLEY FOLLOWING THE TURN AROUND FOR THE PEOPLE COMING BACK THIS VOLUNTEER WILL INSTRUCT THE RUNNERS TO TURN LEFT. These volunteers will direct both 5k and 10k runners in the same manner.
Volunteer # 14 – This volunteer will be stationed at North Wheatley Street and Planters grove. They will direct runners to turn right onto Planters grove. The runners will enter this street and make a loop and will head back out toward you. You will instruct the runners leaving Planters Grove to turn left back onto Wheatley Street heading toward West Ridgeland Ave.

Volunteer # 19 – this volunteer will be located at the intersection of Sunnybrook road and west Ridgeland Ave. This volunteer will instruct runners to turn right onto Ridgeland Ave
Volunteer # 20 – will be located at the turn in for Holmes community college off of Sunnybrook road
