    Three carparks along the length of the track provide options for shorter or longer walks.

    From the first carpark, the track follows around the lakeshore to Tōtara Bay and provides excellent views of the lake back towards Taupo and Mount Tauhara. There is a large group of pines at Te Karaka Point at the far end of the bay. A side track from this point leads back to Acacia Bay Road and the second carpark.

    The main track continues to Rangatira Point, where again there is a side track to Acacia Bay Road and the third carpark.

    The final section of track continues out to Whakamoenga Point and passes at through private property - keep to the track marked as public access.

    Return via the same track, or by using Acacia Bay Road.
