The walk starts at the small car parking area on the minor road to Argaty from Dunblane. The car park is used by walkers accessing the old railway path to Doune at this point. If the car park is full there are a number of wide passing places nearby on the road where cars can be parked without compromising the purpose of the passing places.

From the parking area join the old railway path and head towards Doune. After about a mile bear right onto a path into the woods and follow this until it meets the minor road from Doune to Argaty. Turn right and follow this road through Argaty to Lerrocks Farm. Have a banana break here and view Red Kite visitor centre if open.

Return back down the road to Argaty where bear left and follow this road for about a mile right back to the car parking area.
