Half Marathon runners start at the 'Courtyard Archway' in front of the Beyond the Trees Visitor Centre. A 1 mile loop into the forest is completed (veering right) before runners pick up the 10km Route (marked by orange flags). Runners take the first section of the 10km route back towards the forest but now turn LEFT onto a different looped section of trail. After completing the forest section, runners will travel out the Avenue and continue STRAIGHT onto the Road towards Rathdrum, taking a left at the town roundabout and a left further along at the crossroads. Junctions are manned by Civil Defense vehicles and volunteers. Runners turn RIGHT back onto Avondale Avenue and proceed into the forest and finally then again out onto the road for a second loop of the 10km route.
