Best single day gravel route in Scotland. Five Lochs Challenge - the shores of Loch Laggan, Loch Ossain, Loch Rannoch, Loch Garry, Loch Ericht. Lots of other smaller lochs along the way.
Also can be started at various other points along the route. Surface about 75% gravel/off road. Gravel mostly great, some bumpy / lumpy sections across Rannoch Moor and along the shores of Loch Garry.
When we rode it there were two sections of single track boggy paths which were not ridable for us. The first is at the hear of Loch Garry. Just persevere on the GPX route- it is only about 1 mile. The second is along the shores of Loch Pattack on the estate boundary between Ardverikie and Ben Alder. Again only about 2 km.
Gravel in Corrour and Ardverikie estates is wonderful.
Station cafe at Corrour is well worth the detour. Amazing pace. Has rooms. Also a new cafe in Dalwhinnie (The Aipary) at the time of writing which is good.
This is a committing route which is very remote in areas and with no phone coverage. Please take everything you need to be safe and leave no trace in this wilderness.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
