This one is aimed at a relatively flat ride, even though it goes over the Sandstone ridge, but via the Whytegate way. And takes in a few lovely little lanes that really only facilitate getting to The Barn cafe, at The Hollies farm shop. ( very posh farm shop in Polo country. The cafe has p,entry of covered outdoor tables as well.
If for some reason The Barn ( 30 miles) was closed, then Tarporley garden centre would be alternative at 32 miles. Just follow rout to 32 miles and turn right on coach road and few hundred mtrs, at the main road is Tarporley garden centre which had a large cafe with plenty of food options.
This route avoids my favourite summer lanes ans therefore aimed at wetter occasions. That said the Whyte gate way needs a couple of dry days in the summer, as it is a firm fine gravel, but you do get mud and crap on it in places.
There is one of my fav lanes plotted ( Grange road) and is also only good in summer after good dry spell. It is a lovely uphill strech, but can be easily by passed, if it’s been wet, without adding any distance. In fact the lane is easy to miss and the winter way is automatic but do need to turn right into Delamere road.

CALCULATE CALORIES

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
