    An out-and-back route on both sides of the River Avon. Care needs to be taken not to miss the turning left off the Greenway cycle route, just after the old railway bridge, on to the public footpath for the return journey. Starting from a layby outside the town is for those who'd rather not pay to park: the path is a bit non-descript but it's interesting that you barely see the town as you approach, apart from the spire of Holy Trinity. The ideal starting point would be at the Tramway Bridge, heading south by the theatre, saving the riverside path along the recreation ground for a finish along what must be one of the most beautiful and interesting townscapes in Britain. There is also a riverside path running north out of the town, passing between the Crowne Plaza hotel and the small marina by Clopton Bridge, opposite Cox's Yard. It follows the river on an easy path up to the free car park at The Old Bathing Place just off the A39 (its name on Google Maps); an out-and-back from this car park, with a look round the town section of the river, would make another great run. Probably. Points of interest on this route? Dozens of 'em!
