Parking in the cp on the RHS of the B9037, just past Newmills the route roughly follows the line of the Bluther Burn to cross under the A985 into Valleyfield Wood. After making 3 crossings over the Burn the route soon reaches the Shiresmill Disability Riding Centre (cp here) before heading north. Keep left at the next 3 junctions to cross the B9037 into Balgownie Wood. Once over the Grange and Bluther Burns the route goes right at the next junction and in just over 1/2 mile a right again on to a narrow Rd leading to a gate at Bramble Brae (at a sharp bend in the road). Follow straight on through the gate then right at the Cottage on to the WFCW going east. Stay on the track for approx. 1 and 2/3 miles to cross a viaduct where a sharp right turn should be taken to follow the edge of a wood to a point where taking a left and left again will meet up with the outward part of the route, which should be followed past the Riding Centre back to the car park on the B9037.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
