I keep getting logged out even with the Keep logged In box checked.
The Keep Me Signed In option should keep you signed in for 14 days, unless you click Sign Out at any time or clear your browser cookies. Arr you certain you haven't clicked Sign Out? Is it asking you to Sign In again everytime you revist the site or only sometimes?
John
Seems like everytime. I was on the site Friday and then it asked me to sign in again on Sunday. I did not click Sign Out and I did not clear my cookies.
Can I ask what browser you are using please? I'll do some testing here over the next few days to see if I can recreate the problem.
I'm using Chrome.
I've been testing it on Chrome here over the last few days and have not had any problems. Are you clsoing your browser or tab in between logins or are you keeping the tab open? I'm wondering if the cookies are being cleared by some other software you have on your computer.
I typically close the browser with the tab open. For the last week or so I have stayed logged in. Don't know what changed.
I haven't managed to reproduce the problem here Michael. The Keep Me Signed In option only keeps you signed in for 14 days so maybe it just expired. I'll increase this to 28 days so hopefully this will help.
John,
I'm usually on the site a few times a week. Just this evening I was planning a route and then took a break to have dinner. When I came back I had to log in again.
Is it when you navigate to or from a particular page that it asks you to sign in again or when you're doing something else like saving a route?
And can I just check - are you using the site on a desktop computer or a mobile device?
Just now it asked when I tried to save a route.
I shut down my computer to go to dinner. When I got home i powered back up and re-opened my browser. Everything looked like it did when I shut down. When I went to save the route I was working on I was asked for my password.
I'm using the site on a desktop. OS is Fedora 25 and I'm using Chrome browser.
Hi Michael - I think I may have identified a possible cause for the problem. I've put in a change this morning, so let me know if this has helped.
I had to log in yesterday. I made sure taht teh sty log in button was checked. Today I had to log in again.
Some days it works and some days it doesn't work.
I feel like I'm stabbing in the dark with this a bit as I haven't been able to reproduce the problem here. I'm wondering it it's down to the way your Fedora OS treats cookies or if you have some other software on your computer that is removing cookies. I've made one further change this morning to see if that helps but unless I can reproduce the problem here I think I'm going to struggle to find a solution.
As far as I can tell cookies should be saved between sessions. I understand that it's near impossible for you to correct if you can't reproduce the problem.
