Left home at 10.00hrs. Headed to the Last Wednesday Picnic this side of the second lockdown at Castle Howard. Went via Strensall, Flaxton, Thornton le Clay and Foston. Arriving at 11.45. Joined the queue for a coffee and thirty minutes later met up with the other Wednesday Wheelers there. Eamon Prendergast, Keith Benton, Tom Beever, Ken Bottomer, Keith Wells, Andrew Richardson, Alan Spence, Robin Hudson and Louise and Andy Chamings. there was also mention that Derek Bellerby and Big Graham had been seen in the vicinity. After eating, drinking our snap and having a chin wag. We said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I headed in the direction of Terrington but turned off onto a bridleway, which eventually brought me out onto the road between Slingsby and Hovingham. Directly opposite was a no through road to Fryton. I rode as far as I could and then returned to the main road and continued on to Hovingham. I had a good look around Hovingham and then headed out of Hovingham on the road to Yearsley, stopping to take a few photos of the bridge In Hovingham Park and the Hall. I carried on to the turn off for Brandsby and then from Brandsby to Crayke and Huby. There I headed across Bohemia catching up with some riders from Clifton CC, including Bernard Turgoose. They had been out riding The Three Abbeys Route of Nik Folkards Audax. I rode with them to Skelton and then some of the way to Clifton Green. Where I left them, arriving home at 16.30hrs. Considering the quite mucky bridleway I had ridden on. My bike came out fairly clean.

    CALCULATE CALORIES

    About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
