Thanks for that feeedback - that's very helpful.

I would second that regarding the A & B marker!

Mark's post brought the new, colour selection feature to my notice.  Very many thanks for implementing this!  I went straight to a couple of my collections to give it try.  Here's some immediate feedback.

    • Selecting a colour worked well on my collection (9468) that has 4 routes that simply needed a different but appropriate colour for each one.
    • However, when I tried it on another collection (86) I discovered that there was no way to reliably reselect a colour I had already used.  This collection has many routes and I wanted to arrange them into groups of the same colour (to indicate 'spine', 'links' etc.).  It would be helpful if the colours already used in the collection could show as clickable boxes or for there to be a field where the code for the colour could be entered (or both?)  I did my best with this collection but it was both tedious and a bit hit and miss to get matching colours.
    • Finally, if there are many routes in a collection, the 'Display' menu can be used to turn off lables and symbols etc. to make the map less cluttered.  However, the one item that's not controllable is the 'A' and 'B', start and end markers.  With my example collection (86), even these make it look untidy and confused.  Would it be possible to add a switch for these and thus provide the user with complete discretion as to what is displayed?

    Can't ask for more!

    Hi Mark,

I can see how this would be useful where you have contiguous routes, as you do with your Scottish Coast collection. It's a good idea, but it's not a quick one to sort out though and as you know we also have lots of other good ideas competing for time! It's the sort of thing we might be able to do when we next do some development work on that lart of the site though.

    Hi, back to this!

I have a 24 route Collection. The default colours are really very similar, so the Collection can't distinctly show each route.

OK, I have started to manually select Custom colours, simply red and blue, in sequence. This binary colour choice really makes this very visible. However, the process is a lengthy one, so I ask again, any chance of implementing a "binary" or "alternating" colour choice, please?

    See Scottish Coast

    Cheers,

    Mark

Sounds good. I was just thinking of that special "nice to have" extra option ...... :)

Thanks Mark. I think if we added an option to choose colours for routes in a collection, it would probably be to choose any colour.

A suggestion for colours: maybe an option can be added to just use 2 colours (say red & blue, or user can choose).

I'm routing a 10 day ride. When each ride is added to My Collections, the absolute colour is not so important, it's being able to tell Day 1 from Day 2 etc. A binary colour choice would make this very visible at a stroke.

    Regards,

    Mark

Yes, it was the mobile site that I was using. I'll try to remember to check both sites for any issue in future. Thanks for the explanation.
