I can't tell if this is related the new bike autorouting options, or some other issue, but I'm having problems plotting a route. Although a section of road looks continous, the routing algorithm believes there is a break and sends the route on a detour.
For example, if i go to 55.396307, -2.244432, start a route with bike autorouting on and then try to click near the bridge 50m NW. I end up with a 32km detour. The obvious workaround is to locate the "break" and manually route over it, but its a pain if it happens too often.
Also, when the route gets to the junction with an A class road at 55.307551, -2.348102, autorouting gives up all together. "Sorry, we were unable to auto-plot to this point as it is outside of our coverage area. You will need to turn off the Auto-Plot switch to plot here."

update: Appears to be confined my linux PC (using either Firefox 80.0 or chromium). Windows 10 (Firefox 80.0.1) is working just fine.

Hi John,
There appears to be a cattle grid at the first location, so that is why you can't plot By Bike past this point. If you select Open Street Map as the Map Type and zoom right in you should see a symbol there. You would need to turn off the Auto-Plot switch to plot over ther cattle grid.
I can't reproduce the second issue. Can you share the coordinates of the point your plotting from and the point you are trying to plot to, and also the Auto-Plot setting you are using?

Thanks for the feedback - i'll look out for that in future. As a side note, when it autoroutes around the cattle grid, the algorithm appears to no longer follow the 'road bike' constraint (it leaves the road at 55.396698, -2.223654).
For the second issue,, I'll admit to not reading the beta instructions (I know, RTFM) and assuming the the "road bike -beta" option simply restricted autorouting to segments identified in the "road bikeable -beta". I've conflated the two labels, but they relate to different things. I can reproduce by starting at 55.307680, -2.347140, slightly north of the road junction. If I then click on the track on the other (south) side of the junction e.g. 55.307120, -2.348273, it fails. The reason is now obvious, there is a small dog leg at the junction (<10m) that includes the A68 - which is a main road and therefore not allowed. Objectively i can see what's going on, but subjectively, its not intuitive.
Despite above quibbles, I'll round out by saying i think the site is brilliant.

I have had several instances recently of Autoplotting not working on the Road or Bike setting, for example plotting west along the A418 from the crossroads in Stone, Buckinghamshire. I get an error message or very long detour. Windows 10 and Google Chrome

Do you have the new beta "Road Bike" option selected under "By Bike"? This option currently avoids trunk roads like the A418, so you would need to deselect it if you want to auto-plot on this road . If you click "Learn more" unde the "By Bike" option you can get more details about how this works.

Since recently, I'm experiencing issues with autoplotting. I'm plotting for road biking most of the time, so I use road mode most of the time, as if I use bike mode I often end up on mountain bikes paths, and I often turn on the "bike road" option to see what is road bikeable.
Even on road I know can be used by cars or bikes, sometimes for some reason I cannot autoplot.
Example : search Arvieux in Provence, France and try to autoplot a route to Cervières (route du cold de l'Izoard - D902). I did not suceed to do it.
With many mountain roads like this I have the same problem.
Other example : near Saint-Etienne-En-Devoluy, France, try to autoplot a route to Le Noyer by D17. It works at the beginning and then it fails
I tried different maps, no luck. Is there a solution ?
