Hi Sam - glad you're enjoying using the site. I'm afraid we can't offer an option to change the default map type for embedded routes, as it's not financially viable.
Hi Guys,
New to plotaroute.com -what a great tool! Thanks very much for developing.
I'm also resurrecting an old thread - assuming no changes to the inability to set default map type for embedding? I'm wanting to use topo/terrain for embedded maps on my blog for hikes I've done and defaulting to Topo would be awesome.
Appreciate any updates!
Cheers
Sam
Ah - I see. Thanks for that information. So I know that there's nothing wrong in my code..
Sorry Lucas, this was an option five years ago when this topic was started but we are no longer able to offer this due to increased costs.
Hi there,
I have tried this but I see that it doesn't work for me. I've added "&maptype=paths" to the map address as iFrame source but the lmap is OpenStreetMap nevertheless.
Did anything change in the meantime?
Regards,
Lucas
Sorry Michael, we don't have an option to do this.
Hi Guys,
I would like i-frame embedded maps to show with sattelite view by default. Is there a way to do this?
My code currently looks like this:
<iframe src="https://www.plotaroute.com/embedmap/985685" name="plotaroute_map_985685" width="100%" height="425" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>
Sorry Mark, there isn't an option to default embedded maps to automatically show the terrain view or the hills. This might be something that could be done in the future but we do already have a very long list of feature requests.
John
Oh yeah, and how about Hills too?
Not to resurect a zombie thread, but is there a way to default with Terrain on in the Map view? I can get it to embed with Map view no problem, but I'd like it with Terrain added if possible.
Thanks for such an awesome website!
