    Hi Green Tunnel,

This issue is caused by the two paths overlapping each other. You can work around it by using the "shift route" feature in the left panel. This will separate the overlapping paths, allowing you to plot a detour more precisely.

Here are a few screenshots of the operation.

    Looking forward to your feedback

    Hi,

what do you mean by "a route that doubles over itself at one point"? I tried to reproduce that phenomenon, but I did not encountered any problem.
You can send screen shots to admin@plotaroute.com, thank you for giving details.

    Kind regards.

If I have a route that doubles over itself at one point and I want to create a detour, how do I choose one segment or the other to start/finish my detour?

I am met with the problem of being told:

"The detour must finish further on than where it starts!"

...because I can't choose the later part of the route.
