Check out the How-To Guides ....How To Navigate A Route Using The Plotaroute App
New user so forgive the question. If I find (or create) a route for walking on the plotaroute site, will it track my progress as I walk it using GPS?
Routepilot because the app is ready and it would be wasting John's and the beta-testers work not to do so. Everybody will be free to use it or not.
That's good to know. Will they both be fully supported, going forwards?
@Mark, we'll release Routepilot because the app is ready and it would be wasting John's and the beta-testers work not to do so. Everybody will be free to use it or not.
@Adam : we are currently working on integrating Plotaroute route planner on Visorando. Because, as you mentionned, it is far better than the Visorando route planner.
@Lucas : Plotaroute webapp will stay functionnal
Plus more categories than just "walker' would be nice,
Visorando App - not bad, but the Visorando plotter isnt a patch on Plotaroute's unfortunately - for me the main things areIts not immediately obvious how to switch on route snappingNo directions visible to me - and I use custom directions to provide my Garmin with Up Ahead pointsPlus - no sign of sync to Garmin/Suunto etcAre these going to be coming to the Visorando app? As at the moment, those are quite big deal breakers to me crossing over
If the Visorando app is to be the main mobile app, then why follow through with RoutePilot? Or does it provide something that teh Visorando app does not?
About the apps:Perhaps it's worth to consider that the Plotarout app (the old one) as web browser application has one advantage: It also runs on other thatn Apple or Android devices. Yes - there are some poeple on the world using other operating systems on their phones ;)So perhaps it would be greeat, if the current (web browser) Plotaroutr app would stay functional - even if there are some changes made on Plotaroute...

Regarding the discussion about the beta app RoutePilot : we'll release it (we are currently discussing with the company that develop it to finish the project). But our main goal is to male the Visorando app the main mobile app for Plotaroute. That's why we are creating some connections between Visorando and Plotaroute.
Hi Richard,
thank you for this feedabck. Indeed you can change the map layer => via the button in the top left-hand corner of the map.
OS explorer maps require a susbcription. We do all our best to merge Ptotaroute and Visorando susbscriptions and accounts. In a few weeks you will have full acces of our tools if you have a subscription, thank you for your patience 🙏
Kind regards
Hi plotaroute admin, thanks for your reply.
Yes, I do have one more question.
When using the "Navigate route" function within the plotaroute "app" it wasn't possible to select an Ordnance Survey map, which was frustrating.
To get similar functiomality within Visorando, I select the desired route within the plotaroute app on my phone, then select "Follow with Visorando". I can now see the route and my position (small blue disc). If I select the map orientation to "Automatic : Direction of travel" the map will follow my live location. This is great and it works well.
Is it possible to change the map layer to Ordnance Survey Explorer? Currently, I can't see that option however I don't yet have a full account in Visorando.
Thanks
Yes, with 'halfbaked', I meant the New Mobile App that was in beta development before the takeover, the "native mobile app". I didn't mean the 'web-app'.
As an Android user I never saw the native app and never saw a name for it.
Steve,
The potaroute 'app" seems to be a hybrid between a full app and, as you say, a form of website browser. What I am trying to get Visorando to engage with is the New Mobile App that was in development before the takeover, the "native mobile app" you describe. No matter how I ask, they do not give a clear reply and just add to the confusion.
@Mark I imagine when refering to the 'half baked plotaroute mobile app' Peter is talking about the fact that the plotaroute 'app' is actually just a website browser view, instead of a native mobile app, with things like offline routes, maps, etc. Looks like Visorando does have a native app. I'm more concerned that there appear to be very very few routes in Australia.
There is some confusion about what plotaroute app we are talking about .... the mobile version of the plotter works well. Maybe Peter Höglund is referring to the beta app, RoutePlot, when he says "Looks like you are going for your existing mobile app instead of the half baked plotaroute mobile app"?
Hi Adam,
thank you for warning us. It is a bug, of course Visorando knows Wales 😉. This is going to be corrected in the next hours.
Kind regards,
Hi Allison,
you can install the free app Visorando via the store of your device (AppStore or PlayStore). Currently, subscriptions are not merged, but we work hard to make this available in the next weeks.Thank you for your patience.
Hi Chris,
you can click on several links :
I hope Visorando learns that Wales exists :)
I'm a premium plotarouter. How do I get the app?
