Popular Routes
Finally, I tested a few routes and everything worked fine. If there are no sde effects whatsoever I would appreciate if the change could be made permanent. Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot! I just created a route for a short run this afternoon. So far, the creation, download and import in the Suunto app worked fine. I can see the waypoints in the app. I'll test if I can see the waypoints when navigating during the run and let you know.
We've made that change Simon. Obviously we'll need to revert this if it causes any problems with other device types, but hopefully there shouldn't be any issues.
Thanks Simon. I don't think that's likely to cause any knock-on problems and it's only a quick change for us to make, so we'll see if we can get that done.
Hi!
Thank you for the quick reply!
I know the send to Suunto option although I haven't tried it yet. As we share routes in our family we need to import them manually.
A full waypoint (with the type tag already manually added) is
<wpt lat="51.55293" lon="10.22637">
<time>2023-05-17T00:00:00Z</time>
<name>Start on </name>
<cmt>Start on </cmt>
<desc>Start on </desc>
<sym>Flag, Blue</sym>
<type>Waypoint</type>
</wpt>
Hi Simon,
Can you share a fuller example please, so we can see the whole waypoint in the GPX file?
Also, have you tried our Send to Suunto option? As a Premium member you can use our Suunto integration to send routes straight to Suunto without having to download a GPX file. See this guide for more details: How To Download A Route To A Suunto Watch
Hi there!
I have a feature request for using downloaded maps with Suunto watches and their app. Unfortunately the waypoints are missing when I download a track (with directions) and import it in the Suunto app. They only show up after manually editing the gpx file after downloading and adding a "<type>Waypoint</type>" to each <wpt> entry. Is it possible to have that added for the download? I hope that doesn't break compatibility with other watches.
Thank you and best regards, Simon
