Popular Routes
Hi, I want to add labels to a map using the Annotate Map function, but they don't seem to export to my devices (a Wahoo Bolt V2 and a Garmin Edge 830). Anyone know how I can export so that these show up when I look at the map on the device?
Hi - try adding the labels to the route (via the Directions panel) rather than to the map (via the Annotate Map tool).
As an update - the annotations seem to export with GPX files but not TCX files (based on what I see when I import them into Google Earth). If I then copy that file directly onto the Garmin (into the "New Files" folder) the annotations appear on the map - really useful if I want to mark where the water that I may need 2km off the route is, because directions are only on the route whereas annotations can be off the route. I can't see any other way to get them onto the Garmin, and can't see any way at all to get them onto the Wahoo.
As a further update - once these annotations are on the Garmin I have no idea how to get them off...
How do I get labels to appear on saved routes, please?
First there was an issue that not everyone could see labels added via Annotate the route.
Adding via Directions, as suggested below, and via Waymarks produced numbers at the relevant spot and more information on clicking Directions. But only on the original map, as soon as it was saved the map numbers disappeared though the info in Directions remained. All I want are numbers on the route!
Hi Elizabeth,
To display numbers on the map for each of the directions, turn on on the Directions switch in the map Display Options switch list. You can find this under the DISPLAY menu above the map when viewing a route. The same switch is also available in the route planner - under DISPLAY OPTIONS on the desktop version and under the route planner Settings (gear icon) on the mobile version. Please note though, this switch setting is saved on your computer, so it won't turn them on for everyone else.
