Popular Routes
I can understand the desire of people who host races to have a no ads version. I don't so I'd rather the overall price for everyone doesn't go up, but you offer a third tier membership rate, or the race host pays per event a small fee for no ads. Doesn't seem too complicated?
Agree with Michael.
Will pay more for a NO ADS version. I am trying to sell my races, not map subscriptions.
You have easy, beautiful maps, with too much junk.
Also, please work with RunSignup to be able to embed a map within thier system. They have a few other maping and video embed solutions, but they will not allow html to be embeded.
Thanks for that feedback Michael. This is something that we're currently reviewing. Advertising is a major part of our business model and enables us to keep our Premium membership fees low, so the issue is how we fund the website if we remove ads. It's particularly difficult at the moment, as the amount that advertisers pay us to advertise has dropped due to difficult economic conditions. We do appreciate the issue though, so we're looking into options.
Agreed on the ads, massive distraction, as a premium member of the service, there are great mapping features that I find extremely useful - however publishing these maps for event participants, has yielded some very negative feedback - to the point that I may create a map here, and export to another platform - which, is quite silly, but far less ads and less pushback.
Only option to me seems the more complex one; another subscription level for "totally" free ads .....
Thank you!
Hi Michael,
We don't have a further upgrade option that removes ads for other people viewing your routes I'm afraid. This is certainly something we can consider developing if there is enough interest. Alternatively we could consider a rise in the existing Premium membership fees to cover this - this would be a lot easier to implement, as it avoids the complexity of another tier of membership, but there are probably some people who don't share any routes at all for whom this would then be an extra cost with no benefit. We would love to run the site without any adverts, but sadly they are needed to help cover costs, as Premium membership fees alone don't generate enough. We'd welcome anyone else's thoughts on this.
Maybe a better way to ask would be.... As a permium member, is there another step up in fees so as to not have advertisements on my routes? I post routes for an organized ride and when I tell riders to click on a PDF on my link and there are other PDF's flashing in the ads on the sidebars, this gets very confusing and leads peopple in the wrong direction. Any help would be appriceated Adim. or others.
How can I delete ads when I post a route on line?
