Hi Michael,

I just plotted three separate one-way routes on Google Maps and exported them to KML as "Entire map" and the result was the same as yours: the routes get joined by a straight line and I cannot delete those sections.

However, I was able to split the route into several pieces and save them as separate routes.
In my case, I had to split the route into five sections: three sections that represent my three routes and two sections which are the straight lines that were added to join the routes.
Once saved as separate routes, I just deleted the straight-line sections.

The quickest solution I found to prevent the issue altogether was to choose a layer/route, instead of choosing "Entire map" when exporting to KML.

I haven't found a solution on Plotaroute that would prevent the routes from being joined.
I'll bring this up with the devs.

I want to import KML routes from Google Maps. These are one-way routes. I DO NOT want Plotaroute to close the routes. I am trying to delete the straight lines back to the start. I cannot delet and cannot split. Message says "route is locked" but the padlock symbol is open and orange (not red). What am I doing wrong?

How do I stop Plotaroute closing routes?

Hi Paul - there is a lock symbol next to the Auto-Plot switches at the top of the map - click this until it is orange instead of red (red is locked).
