Search Map field in View RouteFORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

I would like to have the Search Map input field available when I am viewing a map. Sometimes I need to see how close a place (e.g. a campsite I am considering) is to my route. Right now I have to edit my route to then be able to enter the name of the location and see it on the map and its distance from my planned route. It would be better if I did not have to edit the route to do this. I have no intention of changing the route, I just want to look at it in the context of other map locations.
