Shared edit rights on routes by Club admins or individual Plotaroute accountsFORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

As we are many race directors in our club, we have a need to help each other create and maintain courses for our official races, various events, as well as co-creating completely new courses.

Today it seems only one individual account can create and maintain a route. Others can only view it, download or clone it.

But we'd like multiple accounts to have edit rights on certain courses. 

For example:
Course owner is the original creator of the course. They can invite other Plotaroute accounts as editors, and re-assign ownership to another account.

Admins/Editors, are invited Plotaroute accounts who can also edit an Owner's course; or in case of Plotaroute Club Admin; can co-operate and Edit on Club routes. (As a group setting)

As English is not my native language I hope I make sense in my request.

That's a great idea Daniel, thanks for suggesting that. I think the main difficulity would be how to prevent  more than one person editing a route at the same time. It would probably require some sort "check-out" and "check-in" facility in addition to a way of assigning and removing permissions for selected users. Not a simple piece of work but I can see how it would be useful. We've added it to our Feature Requests list where people can vote for it (number 130). 

Yes, it's not a simple feature as it involves the classics of managing multiple committed versions, how to resolve conflicts (typically resolved on code and files with git, svn and other version control solutions.).
