Popular Routes
Hi everyone, long time user, first time poster here!
I often use the OSM maps to plot off-road runs for my Garmin but occasionally used the "street view man" so I could see exactly what the entrance to the trail looked like (some trails mapped are a bit, erm, non-existent or not suitable so I often do this as a check) but this option seems no longer available? Also, when plotting routes for cycling I prefer Google Maps, this feature also appears to have been removed? For reference, I'm a premium user.
Many thanks in advance!
Hi Ross - access to Google Street View is now the Map Inspector (right-click on the map). Please see our announcement from last month regarding Map Provider Changes for further information.
Thanks very much for your response!
What a pity that Google street view is not available any longer. I found this tool very useful for the same reason as Ross, and also to edit my routes if I saw a nicer trail. The access to Street View was also one of the reasons I used Plotaroute. Is there no way this can be re-installed? I am also a premium user.
Hi Anne, it's not perfect but if you right click on the map at the entrance to the trail you're looking at there's a link which says "map inspector". Click that and it'll open a Street View window for you. It's good enough for me, it's not as good as it was but it's adequate.
