On a PC, My Routes, click a star ...

In the mobile app, My Routes, select a route, you'll see the star in the top right hand corner.

Hi Hazel - we're not familiar with that model, but from a quick investigation it looks like it doesn't support route navigation, which would be the only reason to use it with our website.

    Hi

I tested it. Works nicely indeed. I noticed it creates a mountain bike route and I could not find a way to change it to road bike. Not a big  issue.

Hi Pierre - route transfer is very easy using this feature, but there are some trade offs. The Garmin API doesn't enable us to send coursepoints with turn arrows, so custom directions cannot be transferred using the Garmin Sync feature I'm afraid. I think the reason for this is that Garmin tries to generate turn instructions instead. We did initially experiment with sending directions in coursepoints without a turn arrow but this caused confusion, so we changed this a while back. We do send coursepoints for any labels of symbols you added to the directions though. Timing estimates are also not supported at the moment.

This is nice. i will try it right away.

I read below the custom directions are sent as well. Is there a way to send the timing estimates ?

Just found this. Haven't tried it just yet but it sounds brilliant. Obviously looking forward to something similar for Wahoo, but for now this sounds great!

You can only star a route from the My Routes page at present. We've added your suggestion for an option to star a route when saving it to our Feature Requests list where people can vote for it (number 110).

Just found this feature recently (great addition, thanks!)

Is there any way to star a route from the routemaking page?  My general usage of Plotaroute means I plot a route, save, then download/sync.  Would be great to be able to tick a box in the Save menu where I can star the new route immediately rather than having to go to My Routes to star it.

Can start a new thread in Feature Requests if this isn't possible -- or is it already possible and I'm just missing how to do it?

The Garmin Edge range of devices are very popular Stephen you can automatically sync your routes from plotaroute.

Hi. Whilst I've been cycling for sometime I've never used a route planner before.

i would like to use a screen device on my bike to show/give directions and the map in real time.

i use an iPhone but are there other devices I can sync to i.e Garmin, that I can use the routes I have planned.

what devices would you recommend that are compatible.

    look forward to your advice

Hi Rupert - the current version of the Garmin API doesn't allow us to specify a terrain type when transferring routes as Garmin courses. If you want to edit a course on Garmin Connect, you would need to duplicate it first (you can select this option from the menu near the Send to Device button when viewing the route on GC).

I have noticed that even though I mark the route in plotaroute as a road route, when it ends on Garmin it is showing as off-road (and I cannot edit it in Garmin - I presume because it has been uploaded) is this a known issue?

Hi Mikhail - the Garmin API doesn't allow us to specify the privacy settings of any routes transferred, so they are all saved as Private courses on Garmin Connect.  If you want to make a Course Public, you would need to duplciate it on Garmin Connect (you can select this option from the menu near the Send to Device button when viewing the route on GC).

This is also strange for me, as well as for you, but for This is also strange for me, as well as for you, but for GPSMAP 66 Garmin made a separate tool for downloading track -  Garmin Explore. This is a strange and raw product.  As a result, you have to use either with oldstyle usb download, or use iq applications like GRouteLoader, gimporter
