Sorry Steve, there isn't any way to download our route animations - you would need to use screen capture software to do this.

The animated map that appears when you view a route would be very useful as an introduction to a couple of YouTube videos I'm working on.  Is there a way to download it into an .mp4 file?

Google Earth offers an option to save an .mp4 movie of the zoom from the world to a bookmarked place, which is visually effective to orient viewers; the Plotaroute animated map would be perfect to show them the route taken.
