Popular Routes
To support the continued growth of plotaroute.com, we have just made a large investment to substantially upgrade our map serving infrastructure for our OpenStreetMap base maps. Our map tile servers deliver millions of map tiles every month, right across the world, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. To maintain this level of service as the website grows, we have more than doubled our server capacity with this upgrade. This will allow us to provide faster map loading, with greater resilience, as well as being able to ensure that updates to maps are applied more speedily. The new servers will begin to take effect over the next few days.

I am quite pleased with plotaroute.com. Keep up the good work!
I have used plotaroute for 1 year now and I have to say well done. Thank you
Excellent, thank you
I dunno. Just this evening I was trying to plot a walking route in Victoria BC and I repeatedly encountered the problem that the map would not extend, even though I did wait a while. It just presented blank gray space as I was plotting and would not extend. I assume that this is the problem you're trying to solve. It isn't solved. Would Premium do any better? (I don't see how.)
You're simply the best
You guys are offering a splendid tool. All the best and hope you realize all your plans.
I've just made an edit on OpenStreetMap a couple of days ago but it hashn't shown up on plotaroute yet. I take it you only synchronise periodically?
Love this tool by the way.
Hi Peter - thanks for your kind comments and for helping to improve the maps. We update out maps on a constant drip feed basis but browser casching delays the updates appearing for a few days. You can read more about this in our FAQ about Map Updates.
The edit has come through now but I can't plot a route through at the junction of Thames Path and Richmond Road on foot - it goes the long way round which is why I edited OSM in the first place. I'm able to plot a foot route through on OSM with GraphHopper and OSRM. Perhaps it takes longer to update routing?
This OSM link is centerd on the junction: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/51.46561/-0.32302
Thanks in advance
Peter
Hi Peter - please see our FAQ about the frequency of routing updates.
Is there a way to see when the routing is (or will be) updated? I have made a number of additions to OSM and would like to use them
Hi Jesse - we don't publish this information anywhere but refreshes generally happen in the first week of each month.
