Rout created but "no directions available"?FORUMS HOME SEARCH FORUMS

Hello all,

I hope this is the right sub forum for this.  I just created a route and when I clicked on "Directions" I got the error message saying "Sorry, no directions are available for this route."  What gives?  

For your information, the route number is: www.plotaroute.com/route/925841

Any suggestion if I'm missing something obvious here?

Did you use auto-plot (by road/on foot/by bike) when creating the route and do you have Generate directions to Yes in Settings?

Thanks for the quick reply to help.  I just checked again on the Create menu and noted two options: "Plot a route" vs. say, "Bike Route Planner".  Not sue which one I used.  But I did a second test this time usig "Bike Route Planner."  This time the Directions window did show up without the "No Directions Available" warning.  However, the directions contain essentially nothing (https://www.plotaroute.com/route/926600).

Could it be because I'm trying to map in a part of the world where the roads in question have no registered names on the map (A remote area of China)?

I just did another, simple test suing the Bike Route Planner command. This time I planned the route in a center of the city and now the directions are given as normally expected (https://www.plotaroute.com/route/926606).  So it looks like if roads have no names, then the route planner is unable to produce directions?  Can anyone confirm?

Sorry, I did have Auto Plot on. Will test again with it off and see what happens

Yes, the only way plotaroute can help with street names in directions, is if map contains them.

There are NO direction changes !

So the only one direction instruction at start is start here and go.
