Hi Colin. Sure, is no daily operational need for most users.
The suggestion with demo preparation was mainly intended for John.
Make such edits more comfortable by (a) later Ploataroute version.
That looks interesting Willy. I'll have a closer look sometime, but mostly it's not necessary for me.
NEW !
Most secure optimal is by a distance timeline selector_editor.
Functional and best overview even with multiple circuit overlaps.

By Plotaroute. New suggestion ! Comfortable direct edits.
By the animate function, distance_time glider "edit" field > transform into a create tool.
Position select by adding (slow) single step trackpoint: "Return < = > Forward" Buttons.
Or comfortable (autocenter map) single step trkpt to trkpt browsing by the keybord < = > buttons.
OK - I saw something about Drag Mode in the forum and had a look earlier, but wasn't sure it applied. Now you confirm it does, I'll have a better look. Thank you.
Thanks for this feedback Colin. On point B, if you have problems attaching directions to part of route that overlaps another part (typically on an out and back route) you can overcome this by slightly separating the points at that part of the route using the Drag Mode (turn the Auto-Plot switch off first).

Hello John
I'm just plotting some routes exploring roads in Cornwall. I know lots of them are dead ends, because they go to the coast, so I know I will have to come back on the same road.
a) I've plotted a route which goes up what I now see is a private lane, so I'd like to fork right instead of left. However, this is in the middle of a route and I'm unable to either delete it or to replot it - neither seems to work in this scenario. It's no big deal for me really, as I can simply make a note to fork right instead (I listen to the directions using Track Navigator). However, you might like to take a look. You can find it on private Route ID 631617 at 10 miles out.
b) On a different route, I wanted to add an instruction at a turn on the way into a dead end lane. That instruction would make no sense on the way out, but my note appeared in the list of Directions on the way out. There is no way for me to tell Plotaroute which leg I want it on and I think it tends to add it to the later leg if one exists already. Of course, this probably only affects people like me who use an app which reads the Directions eg Track Navigator.
c) One more thing regarding going up dead ends and turning around ... Plotaroute automatic instructions very tidy these days. However, something looked odd when clicking through my Directions, when I saw a "Turn left" into a lane and the next instruction was a "Turn left" coming out of it - but there was nothing at the end of the lane. It looked as if it might have gone wrong, but in fact I had only to add a "Turn around" "Direction" at the end of the lane for it to look complete. I thought this was worth a mention ...
