Popular Routes
Something has changed in the last month or two and I'm not longer able to plot routes. I assumed it was because my membership had expired and I'd reached my maximum number of free routes so I paid for another 12 months and I still can't plot, the red button simply doesn't appear anymore. I normally plot from the same starting point so I save a start template and modify it but can no longer do it. Can you tell me what has changed please?
Hi Nicola - everythings seems to be working OK here. Can you tell me the steps to recreate the problem please? And are you using the desktop site or the mobile site?
John
I have similar situation. For at least one week I can't plot a route, if I choose "On foot" option. I have checked it on different browsers (Chrome, Opera, Firefox) and it's the same on each of them. I can plote a rout using "Off", "By road" and "By bike" options, but after choosing "On foot" I can't even start ploting a route.
Hi Marcin, can you let me know the location where you are plotting routes please and I'll check it out here. Also, can you let me know if you have signed in to your account before plotting the route? We are currenlty trialling a new routing provider for anyone that isn't signed in, so if you have an account I recommend you sign in.
I was ploting routes in Gdansk (Poland). The problem disappeared after a few days and now I can plot a route on foot.
Hi Marcin - I think we found and fixed the bug.
using desktop system i am unable to plot a route in certain parts of Wellington NZ. Some tracks and roads are OK. Others will not work. I am signed in.
Hi Hugh,
There shouldn't be any problems with auto-plotting on roads - can you give me an example please?
For auto-plotting on tracks we use different routing services depending on the map type, so I would suggest trying an alternative map type if you find you're not able to auto-plot where you need to. If you're using one of the non-Google maps, the auto-plot routing for these depends on OpenStreetMap data and very occasionally the path doesn't have the correct designation (e.g. it may not be marked as suitable for cycling) on the OpenStreetMap database, so changing the auto-plot setting can sometimes help, otherwise you would need to temporarily turn off the auto-plot switch. You can also update the OpenStreetMap data yourself if you wish, as these are community based open source maps.
Hi John, it seems to be working now but I was struggling for a few weeks. Thanks for replying :-)
when I know there is a perfectly good path and it shows on satalite but not on paths or cycle maps the plotter will not that route to be taken!
Is there any way to diable the auto plot and plot the route myself with markers?
Hi Roger - yes, you just need to turn off the Auto-Plot switch at the top of the map.
