    When saving a route is it saved as a PDF or another type of file, if not how would I change a route to a PDF

    If you want to save your route map as a PDF document, you would need to install a PDF print driver on your computer to do this and then use the Print option on plotaroute.com to 'print' it to a PDF file.  There are numerous free PDF print drivers available on the internet.
