    Hi Si - Yes, the elevation data should be there.  If you open the GPX file in a text editor on the computer (e.g. Notepad) you should see the elevation tags and data for each trackpoint.

    Hi, 

    If I plan a route and then save as a GPX file, and then upload to my Garmin 800, it does not show the elevation profile of the route on the Garmin.

    Does the elevation data get saved with the GPX?
