No need to worry, you can't save changes to someone else's routes.  If you load up someone's else's route and make changes to it, you can only save the changes to the original route if you are signed in as the route's owner.  You can however save a copy of the amended route to your own account.

Title says it all.  Without signing in I called up someone else's route and added an additional finishing point (and immediately removed it)

Could this have been a permanent alteration or would I have created a fresh route?
