Hello! I spent nearly 4 years living and working in Afghanistan and have, like so many, been deeply affected by the unfolding humanitarian crisis unfolding there. Along with many brilliant friends and colleagues, I have been trying to raise awareness about and provide support both to the families we managed to evacuate as well as to some of those left behind.

The reason I decided to run as a dinosaur (before I realised this costume does not lend itself to running or breathing....) is because one of the 6-year olds we helped told me that dinosaurs are his favourite animal. And so after we bought him a soft toy T-rex to cuddle at night, it seemed appropriate to run in honour of little Ali and all the millions of children who've been traumatised by the fall of Afghanistan and deserve to have a second chance at life.
