Park at the National Trust car park, The Bankes Arms, Studland, BH19 3AU - £4 (2019). Or park just a short distance in to the start of the route in Heath Green Rd for free.

A long and hilly walk with fantastic views of the Purbacks, Studland, Swanage and Poole Harbour. Takes in Agglestone Rock, Isle of Purbeck Golf Club, Nine Barrow Down, Ailwood Down, Corfe Castle, Ballard Down and can be extended to Old Harry Rocks.

The walk to Corfe Castle can be cut short as required. Towards the end, the route can be extended to take in the clifftop above Old Harry Rocks as you walk along Ballard Down, as required.

On this walk, I took a circular route at mile point 6. The lower bridleway is quieter, more sheltered, but has less views and is muddy, so if you want to avoid this, double back along the top instead.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
