This is the route for the Kilworth Festival 5km Fun Run/Walk. Kilworth is a village in North Cork just a 30 minute drive from Cork City. 2016 is the fifth year of this popular event. The start & finish line are ideally located in the centre of the village which links up with the famous 'Fair in the Square' event. Casual walkers to well-seasoned runners are welcomed. The course is accurately measured by Jones counter with chip timing for results. The men’s course record of 15:46 was set by Michael Harty (East Cork AC) in 2013. The fastest lady's time for the course is 19:26, set in 2015 by Niamh Allen (UCC). Prizes include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male and Female and 1st Male and Female O40, O50 and O60. There is a special bonus prize for beating either of the current course records. The 2016 event sees the overall winner getting one weeks free accommodation in a duplex apartment in Caleta on the beautiful Island of Fuerteventura. On-course water & finish-line refreshments are provided and the much coveted Festival Run medal is presented to all participants. Buggies, strollers & prams are welcomed. These participants are asked to stay towards the back of the field at the start line for safety. The event is kindly sponsored by Amber Service Station Fermoy, Collins O' Brien Fermoy & Finbar McCarthy Kilworth.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
