Start at Hub Vélo: 217 Lower Clapton Rd, E5 8EG London.
Around 60km of which 20% or so will be on gravel or unmade roads.
You could bring a CX bike if you fancy. Drop bar bikes will be the order of the day for most people. An MTB would be overkill as 80% is on road, but if that’s what you want to bring, then bring it.
The route was recce'd on March 20th to check conditions: "it was Bloody tough! It's muddy in parts, definitely the CX route version is for CX bikes due to muddy bits.
The route is out through Epping forest, with a planned coffee stop at Blackmore. The cafe there know we are coming, however if they are busy there are a number of alternatives in the area including the Co-op next door, the pub and the antiques shop. You could also stop at the Viper pub if it's open when you get there.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
