Bapchild And Tonge Circular Walk
This is a short circular walk with a choice of on street parking or the option of a hotel.
• Hempstead House
The route will start and finish at Hempstead House, just off Panteney Lane in Bapchild and is approximately 2.3 miles in length. A lot of the walk will involve using The Street in Bapchild (part of the Roman Road known as Watling Street) and a number of small footpaths around the Stones Farm Country Park, Tonge Mill and Pond, Tonge Conservation Area, Hempstead Farm and incorporates the proposed route significant portion of the Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road.
The route will also passes close to the Bapchild Stream which has recently been confirmed as a Chalk Stream by the South East Rivers Trust, the associated wet woodland habitat and the spring of St. Thomas a Becket. There is an opportunity to feed some ducks on Tonge Pond.
Route of suggested walk: The Street, ZR191, ZR190, Church Road, ZR192, The Street, Hempstead Lane, ZR193, Dully Road and ZR194 back to Hempstead House.
