Starting from Cromwell Bottom car park, the route goes through the nature reserve and loops back to the canal towpath. Continue to follow the towpath past Brookfoot to Brighouse. Turn right over the bridge and across the car park, over the river bridge and under the railway bridge. Turn right along side the railway and follow Lillands Lane. Almost at the end of the houses onyour left at the top of the hill, look for a footpath that goes into Reins Wood. Follow the footpath to Strangsty Wood keeping to the edge of the wood on your left. The track exits the wood onto Booth Royd Lane, turn right and follow the road to the junction with Lower Edge Road, turn right and follow the road downhill . Turn right onto the track at Shaw Lane and then follow the footpath into the field and loop around towards the railway, go under the bridge and then follow the track back to Cromwell Bottom car park.
