MG- Rossette & Griffin Lane Climb & Home
There is however, 1 steep hill, just to give the legs a bit of work and strech the lungs. Griffin lane is only 100 mtrs long, but tough.
This route suits a southerly wind, as you don’t want to ride Rossette road with a headwind.
This route also includes a favourite sheltered lane that runs parallel to the main dual carriageway and leads us right into the bottom of Griffin lane, which provides a nice warm up to the climb.
At 31 miles it’s not really a starter ride, but it can be shortened by 2 miles by heading directly to Holt via Borras hill and therefore cutting out Francis lane.
This route is easily extended as well for the return leg home, either by heading up through Aldford and Platt’s lane or by heading south toward Shotlach & Tilston , Carden Park etc.
