This route uses a modified version of the route marked on the Walk Highlands website. It starts with the Cona Glen option. At Glen Dessary it takes the forest track via A-Chuil bothy not the valley track marked on the Harvey Maps. At Loch Calavie (after Maol Bhuide Bothy) it heads west to go via Strathcarron and Torridon to 'enjoy' the route round the back of Beinn Eighe to Kinlochewe. At Corrie Hallie (after Shenavall bothy) it detours to Ullapool (Hitch the road section?) for supplies and possibly a comfy bed. This GPX heads directly from Ullapool via Loch Achall back to the trail. From Sandwood Bay this follows the cliff line as marked on the Harvey Maps. Tweaked slightly to match the path sections marked on OSM mapping.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
