From LHR the first decision is to decide whether you include Lynmouth on the route, as per the map, or take the 'return route directly to Lynton.
The route from LHR takes you down Summer House Lane. Once across the field to the wood line it's turn right for Lynmouth or left for Lynton. N.B. The path down the Lynmouth is steep in places but beautiful.
The Lynton Lynmouth Cliff Railway will bring you up Lynton. The route then takes the path at the side of the town hall up Hollerday Hill via what was the driveway of Hollerday House. They do not makes driveways like they used to.
At the top of Hollerday Hill are the most amazing views across the Valley of Rocks and the Bristol Channel. From the top of Hollerday Hill you drop down into the Valley of Rocks. From here take the North Path under Hollerday Hill back to Lynton.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
