CER- Rose Farm To River Organic Farm Cafe Davenham

Something different, Only in summer, as the river weaver crossing is via a track and tunnels, that are always a bit damp. The destination is the Riverside Organic farm shop cafe in Davenham.
This one is tricked up a bit to get in as many little lanes and 25 miles before the cafe ( Davenham farm shop cafe) There is no close alternative.we would have to ride to The Barn cafe at The Hollies farm shop at 34 miles.
The return leg is crossing the river weaver via ‘the tunnels & swing bridge, just below Moulton.. The track from Moulton is a decent gravel track. The tunnels are short but can have a tiny stream through them, but firm ground.

This is a hilly ride, but kept it reasonable hence we start on the easier climb to get onto Samdstone ridge and then go through Kelsal, rather than up over quarry lane and Yeld lane, which would add another 200 feet.. The route takes in my favourite climbing lane Gallowsclough lane in Norley.

The whole route is very interesting, the only draw back is the awkward bit getting to the Davenham Farmdeli cafe, as we have to meander through the suburbs Hartford ( subburb of Northwich, which means we have to do a short strech on the A 556

The return leg via the gravel track and tunnels over the weaver, is ok. However, if there was an issue and couldn’t get through then the alternative is a few miles diverting south via Bostock to Winsford in order to cross the river weaver.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
