Reverse Tarakea
I first cycled towards lake Challa where I hoped to camp, but you now have to pay a $25 conservation fee on road near lake, so gave that up & ended up camping in the Game Wardens' garden up the road.
From here, although not on the map, there is a road that skirts round north to Tarakea. All dirt/rocky roads but no steep climbs, which you get on the upper road which goes through Mwika.
The upper road was great for the return ride, all tarmac, mostly downhill & loads of guesthouses, shops & food places along the way.
Spent 2 days getting to Tarakea then one day to return to Moshi.
