Quiet route to scafell pike from eskdale, starting at jubilee bridge, and moving up the valley with the river esk on the left, crossing lingcove bridge and taking a steep incline up towards the waterfall. After flattening out above the waterfall follow the river round to the left onto the great moss. Cross the river st the center of the great moss and take the steep climb to the right of the cam spout waterfall. Do not take the shallow ravine further to the right. At the top of cam spout follow the path towards mickledore saddle, keeping to the right hand side scree. One atop the saddle head to the right and follow the path, cairns etc towards the top of scafell pike. Take the return journey retracing footsteps
