Wild Turkey Ft Meade

This is a gravel road that starts near the check in station and heads out to a small pond. It's quite flat and the hills are all low grade. On and off, there is about a 5 foot grass shoulder on either side if you prefer a softer hiking surface. Despite its width, it should have a canopy over much of the length when leaves are out. It's well maintained, and only service vehicles should be using the road. It's also shared by equestrians.

This road connects to other similar roads, as well as the Woodland Trail. Please note that per regulations it is not acceptable to go off trail, and follow all restrictions as there are organized hunts from time to time.

The pond is used for fishing, and there is a covered seating area but no other facilities.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
