Castleshaw ~ Delph Short Version

From the car park the walk goes up to the Roman Fort and then on between the Upper and Lower Castleshaw Reservoirs. There follows the only major climb on the walk as it traverses the hillside to reach Broad Lane. Stop to enjoy the far reaching views as you climb. Having reached Broad Lane we then start the descent past Heights Farm across fields, farm tracks and back roads to the outskirts of Delph. and the River Thame.
On entering Delph you have the option to have lunch at the White Lion pub that serves good food.
The return to the start follows the route of Hull Brook to the reservoir, although this is actually uphill, its a very gentle almost imperceptible gradient.

Although the track maps at 4.2 miles my experience on the day was nearer 5 miles, not sure why the descrepancy.
