Description Suggest Change
North 40 is a fun, short loop. It's big on flow and small on tech. While most of the ride is on smooth dirt singletrack, there are a few interesting technical spots on slickrock and other rockier features. These are perfect for challenging beginner or intermediate riders.

Start by riding up the gravel road from the parking area, in a tenth of a mile you'll see a sign on your left for North 40, take this left. After a brief climb, you'll enter the loop. It's best ridden counterclockwise, so enter the loop at the T intersection.

The nice thing about North 40 is that none of the climbs are very long, and it undulates nicely. The trail is flowy and fast enough that a strong intermediate rider could complete the loop easily in 30-40 min. Therefore, if you're looking for a longer ride, combine this with another one of the fantastic trails in the area!

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
