Cafe Viaduct and head out through Powick (potential joining point at about 9.15 at the roundabout in Powick), Jennets Tree Lane, Malvern (another joining point at the Post Office sorting office in Abbey Road) and UP Wyche Cutting. Here we take a (well earned) refreshment break at the high point of the ride at Cafe H2O.

From there it is DOWN to Colwall, UP through Cradley and DOWN to Knightwick. At this point there is an escape route to home avoiding the Col de Ankerdine. This should be around 11.30 (ish) (depending on wind, legs, lungs, length of coffee stop,....)

For the foolish hardier souls amongst us it is then UP and over Ankerdine to Martley and Great Witley. There follows a brief spell on the narrow racetrack that goes by the name of A443 before we escape to quieter roads to Shrawley and the second refreshment stop at The Lenchford (about 12.30).

The route back to Worcester is via Holt Heath and the bridge over the Severn (sadly on the A443 again – but not for too long). We skirt Ombersley before heading to Claines (possible celebration in the Mug House?) and back to the start point.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
