Loop starts at the northern entrance of Lynn Park, on Greenock Avenue.

Route begins by running south, on trails in Lynn Park, and parallel to White Cart Water.

After a mile, the route then leaves through the Southern exit of Lynn Park, onto Lainshaw Drive.

Continuing onto trail on the other side of the road, through a forested section to emerge onto Holmbyre Road.

Crossing Carmmunock Road, taking Linndale Drive, turning onto Ardencraig Road, and following on the route until the first entrance into Cathkin Braes Country Park - which you should reach around mile 2.

Once there, run east along running/walking pathways, avoiding muddy mountain biker paths as these are busy on weekends.

Route continues east, for almost two miles, past wind turbines, into Big Wood, running past Queen Mary's Seat.

At approx. mile 4.5, run then begins to head south again towards Cathkin Road, where route follows the road heading East, until coming to the first gravel side road on the right.

Remain on country road, for a mile, passing fields and farm houses, until the second exit on the right.

Remain on wildlife path in a circular loop, for another mile, taking you to 5.5 And you'll know you're on the right path when the trail begins to turn back on itself, northwards.

At mile 6.5, take a country road going north, the road will be on your left, continue running up this road to South Cathkin Farm - which you should reach at mile 7.

Once past the farm house, the trail turns to road, and continue heading north towards Cathkin Road, which you should reach at around mile 7.5.

Turn left on Cathkin road, continue for approximately 200 yards, until the turning back into Cathkin Braes Country park.

Take the trail heading west, and that runs parallel to Cathkin Road. You will remain on that trail in Cathkin Braes for ~1.5 miles.

At mile 8.5 you will run past a carpark, and then the path will start heading North-West, you can take which trail you like here. As long as they lead back to Northern Exit of Cathkin Braes, leading onto Ardencraig Road.

From here, between miles 9.5- 10.5, the route to Lynn Park is identical to the route taken to get to Cathkin Braes.

Once at Top Wood, in the southern part of Lynn Park, keep right, and northwards, through the golf course.

At around mile 11, you will cross a road/club house, and remain on trail that runs parallel to Linnieview Avenue.

Which will bear left at the end, leading you back on to the same stretch of trail the run began with. On greenock Avenue. That should bring you up to around 11.5 miles or 18.5km.

About the Calorie Calculator

Our Calorie Calculator estimates how many Calories you will burn using Metabolic Equivalent (MET) values from Compendium of Physical Activities. The Compendium idenitifes the relative energy cost of undertaking various activities compared with doing nothing. We then combine this with your weight and the estimated duration of the activity, taking into account the length of the route and the hills involved, to estimate the total Calories burned.

When selecting an Activity setting, select the speed you would normally travel at on flat ground.

Please remember, the estimated number of Calories is just a guide and the actual number of Calories burned may vary depending on other factors such as weather and terrain.
